Cooler Weather is Back

Boy was it ever cooler today.  I was freezing!  I was back dressing for winter.  It wasn’t that cold out, but the wind was wicked!  It is suppose to warm up again, so we should have a half decent holiday weekend.

I finished three things this week.  The Yarn Harlot socks are finished.  I used Online Supersocke 100 in color 1485 with a size 1 needle.

I also finished the Anne Elliot socks by Canon Hand Dyes.  The color is Anne Elliot and I used a size 1 needle.  I enjoyed knitting with this yarn.

Also completed this week (in fact today) is the Mimi cowl made with Lotus mini (mink) yarn with a size 7 needle.  The pattern called for me to knit until the stockinette stitches totaled 21 inches.  That would have been way too long, so I stopped at around 15 inches.  The color is 04 (grey).

I did get to work a little on the Sunshine Sock by CookieA.  I am using Sanguine Gryhon Bugga yarn in the color Dragon Millepede with a size 1.5 needle.  I am enjoying this pattern as well as the yarn.

I swear I get socks finished quicker when I am working on more than one pattern at a time.

While I was at my local yarn shop this week, they put out some new colors in Dream in Color Everlasting yarn.  I had to buy the Morning Glory color.  I’m not sure what I will knit with it, but probably will do a shawl.  The colors are just too pretty.

Now I just have to finish the Garter Ridge Shawlette and get working on the Advent Calendar Scarf and also figure out what sock to knit next.

Socks, Yarn and Zombies

I’ve done so much knitting this week that I may be in a knitting funk.  Let’s hope not.

I finished one sock of the Anne Elliot socks.  I am using Canon Hand Dyes yarn in the Anne Elliot color with a size 1 needle.  I love this yarn.  It is soft and springy.

I also finished one Online sock in the color 1485 using a size 1 needle.  I like how this yarn striped.

I love the Sunshine sock pattern by Cookiea.  I have turned the heel on the first sock.  I always feel that when I turn the heel on a sock, it is almost finished.  I am using Sanguine Gryphon Bugga in the Dragon Millepede color.

Day 4 of the Calendar Scarf is complete.  Only 20 more days to go.  I am using Madelinetosh Merino Light in the color Rainwater with a size 2 needle.  I love the color of the yarn, but DO NOT like this yarn.  It is single ply and not very conducive to beading.  I have 2 more skeins of this yarn in the color tern and don’t plan on buying anymore.  I have to find a project to use  up the yarn when I am finished with this scarf.  The good thing about the yarn is that it takes the dye really well.  The colors are beautiful.

I’m getting closer to finishing up the Mimi cowl.  I love this yarn.  It’s Mimi mink yarn in the color 04 (grey).  I am using a size 7 needle.  The pattern calls for you to knit 21 inches before doing the border garter stitch rows.  I have 10 inches now and will not be doing 21 inches.  That is just too long.  I will probably do around another 5 inches.

I am enjoying working on the Garter Ridge Shawlette using Madelinetosh Pashmina, so I had to buy more of this yarn.  I got Rainwater and Grey Garden.  Now to find projects to knit.

I posted a picture earlier of my Zombie doll.  Here is a picture of two Zombies.  My knitting friend and I knit the same doll in different colors.  They are so cute!

Nice Week

It was really a nice week this past week.  The weather was great.  I got a lot of knitting accomplished and met the Stephanie Pearl McPhee.

Monday, the Yarn Harlot came to speak in Bethlehem, PA.  She was great!  I got to talk to her before it started and she signed one of her books that I had.  It was a great night.

In honor of her appearance, I had to take knitting with me and the perfect thing to take was a sock.  I used Online Supersocke 100 sock yarn in color 1485.  I’m using a basic sock pattern for this sock.  I didn’t want anything complicated to knit.

I also started a sock by Cookie A this week.  The pattern is called Sunshine and I am using a size 1.5 needle with the Sanguine Gryphon’s yarn in the color Dragon Millipede.  I’m liking this pattern.

I also continued to knit on the Anne Elliot socks by Canon Hand Dyes using a size 1 needle.

That’s three pair of socks on the needles.  Yikes!

I also finished day 3 of the Advent Calendar scarf.  I am using Madelinetosh Merino Light in the Rainwater colorway with a size 2 needle.

Yesterday and Today, I worked on cleaning up the screened in porch with my husband.  We also got out the patio furniture.  It was a little dreary, but we were able to get everything finished before the rain started.  Now, I can sit on my back porch and enjoy knitting and reading.  The perfect end to a wonderful week.

Socks are flying off my needles

Between the Addi Sock Rockets and Signature needles, my needles are churning out socks.

I finished the Lavender Field socks by Lollipop yarn.  I love the colors of this striping sock.  I used a size 1 needle.

Then I cast on for the Anne Elliot socks.  The yarn is from Canon Hand Dyes and the color is of course Anne Elliot.  This yarn is great. Nice and soft.  I am using a size 1 needle for these.

I also started the Quaker Ridge Shawlette using Madelinetosh Pashmina in the Moorland color with a size 7 needle.  I love this pattern.  It ends with beads and since I am using beads for the Advent Calendar Scarf, I am looking forward to using beads with this shawl.  They show up on the cast off row.  Should be interesting to do the beaded bindoff.  Something new to learn.

 

The Stephanie Pearl McPhee (Yarn Harlot) is coming to Bethlehem, PA on Monday and I got a ticket to see her.  So, I needed another skein of yarn to knit a sock while attending.  I got Online Supersocke 100 in the City Color 1485.  I will be using a basic sock pattern.  I’m going to call these my Yarn Harlot socks.

I also landed out buying a skein of Dream in color Everlasting sock yarn in the color bitter.  I love this color.  Green is one of my favorite colors.

I am a bag collector and I love MadBird bags.  When I saw this bag, I couldn’t resist it.  It’s called knitting sheep.  A great bag to hold socks in progress.  I highly recommend her bags.
